How it works

  1. 1Drop a KML file (or click to choose)
  2. 2Click Convert to GPX
  3. 3Preview if you like, then download

Good for

  • Google My Maps → watch / computer

You drew a route in My Maps or Earth and need GPX for Garmin, Wahoo, or Komoot.

  • Share a line without Google styles

Hand off the geometry as GPX; styles and icons stay behind on purpose.

  • Polygons as boundary lines

Area shapes become outline tracks when possible so devices can still follow an edge.

  • Pair with KMZ when the file is zipped

If your download is .kmz, use KMZ → GPX instead — same idea, zipped KML inside.

Please noteStyles and icons are not carried into GPX. Polygons become boundary lines when possible.

FAQ

Are my KML files uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser.

Do folder styles and icons survive?

No. GPX is for track geometry and sport-oriented data, not Google Earth styling.

What if I have a KMZ?

Use KMZ → GPX. KMZ is a zip that usually contains the KML plus media.

Can I go back to KML?

Yes — use GPX → KML when you need Earth / My Maps again (sport metrics will not round-trip).
