Your GPS files stay in your browser memory for the session. We do not provide an upload API for tracks.
Track files
When you drop or select a FIT, GPX, TCX, KML, KMZ, GeoJSON, CSV, or export zip, conversion runs in your browser. We do not upload that file to TrackConvert servers in order to convert it.
There is no track upload API. Clearing the page, using Clear, or leaving the tab removes the working copy from the converter UI. We do not keep a cloud copy of your track contents for conversion.
Accounts and signup
TrackConvert does not require an account for conversion. We do not ask you to create a login to download results.
Privacy trim
Optional start/end trim deletes points near the beginning and end of a track (for example around home) before export. That is a local edit of the file you download — not full anonymization, and not a guarantee against re-identification.
Use it when you plan to share a track publicly; adjust radii to match how far you want to hide.
Map preview
Conversion never requires a map. If you open Preview map, an external basemap tile server receives requests that can reveal the approximate region of the track.
Skip preview if that matters to you. Closing the preview stops further interaction; already-requested tiles may still live in browser or CDN caches like any normal map page.
Website visits and edge logs
Like most sites, page visits may generate normal operational logs at the hosting edge (for example Cloudflare request logs: IP address, URL, user agent, timestamps). Those logs relate to visiting pages, not to the contents of GPS files processed in your browser.
Anonymous usage counts
We may record lightweight event names such as page_view, inspect_archive, convert_done (with ok / skip / fail counts and output format only), privacy_trim_on, and download_zip. These help us see whether archive conversion is useful.
On trackconvert.app we may also load Google Analytics 4. It receives the page URL, referrer, approximate location, and device type, plus the same event names and counts. It does not receive filenames, activity names, coordinates, or track geometry.
You can opt out on this page. That choice stops both our own counts and Google Analytics, and is stored in this browser only.
Language preference
Language choice is handled by navigating to language-specific URLs (for example /zh). We do not need an account profile to remember that.
Changes
If how we handle privacy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page. The latest version always applies when you use TrackConvert.
Your choice on this device
Stored only in this browser (localStorage). This switch stops both our own counts and Google Analytics. Clearing site data removes cookies Google may already have set, and resets the choice.
