Use this when you have hundreds of Garmin activities and do not want to export GPX one activity at a time.
Guide
Garmin full export → GPX
Garmin does not offer “all activities as GPX”. Convert the full export zip locally instead.
1. Request a full export
Sign in to Garmin account data management and request Export Your Data. Wait for the download — full exports can be large.
2. What you receive
Expect a large zip with DI_CONNECT (or similar) paths and nested zips of FIT files — not a folder of ready-made GPX.
You may also see summarizedActivities.json (or similar) used for activity names and start times when TrackConvert can match them.
3. Convert on TrackConvert
Drop the outer zip into Convert archives. TrackConvert unpacks nested zips, converts activity FIT files, and skips monitoring-style files without GPS when possible.
Pick Backup as GPX (or another destination), optionally enable privacy trim, then download.
(Screenshots of this step can be added here later.)
4. Import or back up — watch these limits
Use GPX for Komoot and many third-party tools. For sending a course to a Garmin device, use the Garmin (course / upload) destination when converting.
Very large exports are limited by browser memory — prefer a desktop browser and close heavy tabs if conversion stalls.
5. Privacy trim tips
Before sharing any exported GPX, trim start and end if the route includes home or work.
About 200 meters at each end is a common starting radius; adjust to your area.
6. Skips and failures you may see
Monitoring FIT files and indoor activities without GPS points are skipped on purpose and listed in the report.
Unknown FIT messages are handled best-effort: usable GPS is kept when possible; otherwise that file is marked failed and the rest continues.
