Use this when you want a full Strava backup as GPX, or you are leaving Strava and need files for Komoot, Garmin, or another app.
Guide
Export Strava history to GPX
Download your official Strava archive, then convert every activity to GPX locally — no code required.
1. Request your Strava export
On Strava (web), open account settings and request a full data export (often under download or delete your data). Delivery can take hours or longer for large accounts.
Only use the official export — TrackConvert starts after the zip is on your computer.
2. What you receive
A zip that typically includes activities.csv plus an activities/ folder of mixed FIT, GPX, and TCX files (often gzipped).
It is not a neat “all GPX” package. That is normal — TrackConvert reads the mix and writes a consistent output format.
3. Convert on TrackConvert
Open Convert archives, drop the zip (or multiple track files), and choose what you need it for (for example Backup as GPX, Komoot, or Upload to Strava).
Optionally turn on privacy trim to hide start and end before download. Then convert and download the result zip.
(Screenshots of this step can be added here later.)
4. Import or back up — watch these limits
Komoot and many apps prefer GPX. Garmin course / device upload also commonly uses GPX from our Garmin preset.
If you re-upload to Strava: free and subscriber accounts have different batch limits — plan for about 15–25 files per upload and about 25MB per file. Large archives should be uploaded in packs, not all at once.
Keep a local backup zip even if you also import elsewhere.
5. Privacy trim tips
Strava’s map privacy zones do not remove start/end from the files you export yourself. If you will share GPX publicly, trim start and end first.
A starting point many people use is about 200 meters at both ends — increase if your home sits on a long driveway or shared path.
6. Skips and failures you may see
Indoor or otherwise GPS-less activities may be skipped with a reason in the report table.
Corrupt or unreadable files are reported as failed without stopping the rest of the archive.
